what is the difference between hydrochloric acid and muratic acid?

my originator asked me to pick up some hci non muratic cleaner for his driveway and i cant find it can someone tell me a brand name
thanks for all your answers now can i ask a follow up question? this cram is really interesting. muratic acid is actually 70 percent water and 30 percrent hci hydrochloric so i could i purchase non muratic hci? And isnt hci a dirivitve of bleach so chlorine=hci=muraitc with a few other ingredients and the order listed would be the order of purity.

There isn't any difference. Check in a pool give store, it;s used to adjust Ph. Oh, and warn your dad to dilute it first, or he'll melt his driveway before cleaning it.

They store it in red opaque cartons, like blanch.
  • Muriatic acid is the old (traditional) name for what is chemically known as hydrochloric acid
  • Muriatic acid is just the old name for Hydrochloric acid.

Good point about diluting Sciguy. But suffuse the acid into the water, not the water into the acid, to prevent boiling.
